Our Story

Von Duro Wildheit Kennels is situated on 13 idealistic acres in Center Harbor NH. What started as Steven’s passion project, is now a full-fledged family adventure. VDW’s focus is producing superior quality GSDs from working lines. Our breeding program intentionally breeds and raises dogs for health, temperament and versatility.

Steven

I started my dog sports journey at a young age with bird dogs. I worked at a shooting preserve for 8 years training English Setters, Cocker Spaniels and Labrador Retrievers. In 2009 I joined the Army as part of an elite special operations unit. During 2 of my 5 deployments I served as a specialized canine handler. Working with a multipurpose canine that excelled in tracking, explosives detection and apprehension is what sparked my interest in the working dog community. After moving back to NH in 2014 with my newly started family I began searching for the perfect dog to start my passion project. I finally found Jetta 6 years later and founded VDW Kennels with my family.

Brittany

My love for dogs started at a very early age. My best friend from age 1 until shortly after my 9th birthday (when he passed away) was a yellow lab. During my adolescence I spent a lot of time training hunting dogs with my family. While we weren’t out training the dogs I acted as caretaker of the kennel area, patiently waiting until the day I could finally have my own dog. With 4 adults dogs in our home and litters of puppies from time to time, I couldn’t be happier! Well… I am still on the lookout for the perfect vacuum to manage our house full of dogs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am currently working with as many mentors as I can learn from in the working dog community and am pursuing a kennel master certification.

Addison

I am 9 years old. My favorite dog is Boca. She is from the “B” litter. She now works for a police department! My job at VDW is to feed the big dogs. I want to have my own dog to compete with in a few years. My favorite dog is a husky.

Oliver

My name is Oliver. I am 8 years old. Alpha is my favorite dog. I help my mom train him. When I am old enough I want to compete with him. My job is to let the dogs outside. My favorite food is pizza.
